Johnson School Brings 11 CEOs to the Entrepreneurship@Cornell Celebration
"Pains and Gains" Business Roundtable and "The Billion-Dollar Gamble" symposium highlight the school's entrepreneurial edge.
April 8, 2008 | Ithaca, NY | The Third Annual Entrepreneurship@Cornell Celebration takes place April 10 to April 11, 2008, with the Johnson School and its students playing a major role. The university-wide event brings together more than 500 students, alumni, faculty, and staff from nine colleges and programs. This educational and inspirational event kicks off with the Johnson School's "Pains and Gains Business Roundtable" on Thursday, April 10, at 9 a.m., in ILR Conference Center Room 423. The roundtable comprises a meaningful dialogue between a select group of young entrepreneurs and seasoned veteran Entrepreneurs, who will share perspectives on the exciting and challenging work of creating start-ups and early stage companies, growing those companies, and ultimately harvesting value.
On Friday, April 11, the Johnson School's Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Club and Net Impact present The Billion Dollar Gamble: Ideas that will Change the World…or Lose Fortunes. This four-panel symposium will bring 11 CEOs and other top-level entrepreneurs to Sage Hall to discuss big ideas and big gambles in technology, alternative energy, sustainability, and serial entrepreneurship. Panelists include Jay Walker, the founder of Priceline.com, and Paul Breitenbach '92, MBA '95 , CEO, Quickstore24 Systems. Breitenbach took his company to $1 billion in revenue in less than two years.
