October 16, 2007 | Ithaca, NY - The Strategic HR, Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness group (SHRLOE) of the Johnson School and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) at Cornell University will host its 5th annual symposium on Friday, October 26, 2007 at Sage Hall, room B09, on the Cornell campus. The event provides an opportunity for business executives, leading academics, and interested students to explore how companies can effectively drive and maintain successful change in their organizations.
More than a speaker series, "Driving Organizational Change" presents a forum for conversation and debate regarding the current and long-term challenges facing leaders engaged in organizational change activity. The symposium will begin with a keynote address at 9:00 am by Randy McDonald, senior vice president of Human Resources of IBM, who will discuss the concept of "change being the only constant," as well as how IBM has managed revolutionary change.
The symposium will continue with a case study at 10:15 am on "Change Strategy" with Deloitte Consulting and Microsoft. The case study panel will examine ways in which organizations can improve their strategy execution by optimizing the interplay between strategy and behavior while identifying values for front-line executives. The final panel includes leaders from American Express, Honeywell, and Pfizer and will begin at 11:45 am. Moderated by Christopher Collins, director of Executive Education at the ILR School, the panel will address driving internal organizational change. The event will end with a networking luncheon for students and company representatives.
