Larry Tanenbaum to Speak at Sage HallFebruary 14, 2005, Ithaca, New York The SC Johnson Graduate School of Management is pleased to announce that Larry Tanenbaum, CEO of Kilmer Van Ostrand Company and Chairman of the Toronto Maple Leafs, will be speaking at 4:30 pm on Thursday, February 24 at Sage Hall on the Cornell Campus. Mr. Tanenbaum will discuss "Leadership and Entrepreneurship" as part of the Park Leadership Speaker Series. Mr. Tanenbaum, BS '68 Agriculture and Life Sciences, is currently the Chairman and CEO of Kilmer Van Nostrand Co. a large multi-faceted construction company with operating divisions in Canada, the United States and South America. Mr. Tanenbaum also serves as Chairman of Kilmer Capital Partners a $115 million private equity investment fund. In July 2003, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Maple Leaf Sports and was named the most influential sports figure in Canada. He also holds interests in the Toronto Raptors and the Air Canada Centre. Mr. Tanenbaum's passion for sports stems from his student days at Cornell in the late 1960s where he was a student manager for the Cornell hockey team and friends with Cornell hockey great Ken Dryden '69. The Roy H. Park Leadership Fellowship Program was established in 1997, funded first by the Park Foundation, then by the Triad Foundation, Inc. The program serves to attract the highest caliber MBA students to the Johnson School, reward outstanding past performance, and develop demonstrated leadership potential. The fellowship is a full-tuition grant, plus stipend, that is awarded each year to up to twenty-five entering students in the two-year program. In addition, the program provides Park Fellows with a robust leadership development program, which is among the richest leadership development experiences in any top school in scope and impact. The Johnson School at Cornell University, founded in 1946, is Cornell's graduate school of management.
