I came from a pre-med background but was working in sales and trading. I wanted to get a solid business foundation and knew that an MBA would only help to accelerate my career, given the difficult economy. I also knew that gaining a diverse business background would prevent me from being "pigeon-holed" into a particular industry.

The leadership opportunities and academic foundation I received at the Johnson School have been tremendous. The Johnson experience has given me credibility and opened my eyes to all of the careers available for someone with my skill set. By taking the Research, Sales and Trading Immersion I gained a better understanding of the tools and skills I will need in sales and trading and I signaled to employers that I am serious and committed to that field.

I also built a large group of business contacts, including a network of women I've met through the Women's Management Council.

My experience as the student speaker at Destination Johnson helped hone my public speaking skills and gave me the confidence to take advantage of more of these opportunities in the future.

My MBA experience was much more grueling than I expected -everyone is working very hard to be as successful as they can. But at the Johnson School, it's much more about cooperative learning than individual success.
