Student Clubs & Organizations

Black Graduate Business Association (BGBA) works to build bonds with Johnson School alumni, potential employers, and other Black MBA candidates in order to advance the recruitment of qualified Black students and faculty to the Johnson School, promote professional development of its members, and positively impact the greater community.

Hispanic American Business Leaders Association (HABLA) creates pathways to leadership for Hispanic Americans through education, opportunity, and networking.

Latin American Business Association (LABA) promotes relationships between MBA students interested in Latin America with university alumni, prospective students, business, government organizations, and the media.

Out for Business (O4B) exists to foster a positive environment and build a professional network for members. The club facilitates networking between existing students and alumni, with students at other business schools, and with professionals in the lgbt community at large.

South Asian Business Club (SABC) facilitates stronger ties between the Johnson School community and the global South Asian business community, including regional government, non-profit organizations, academia and media, while facilitating cultural understanding within a business-specific context.

Women's Management Council (WMC) sponsors efforts to increase the enrollment of women within the Johnson School, influences the environment around us to promote and support women in business, provides a structure for connecting with present and future women leaders, and supports the diverse professional and personal aspirations of women within our community.

Partner Organizations and Alliances

Forté Foundation is a consortium of major corporations, top business schools and influential non-profit organizations that in only three years has become a powerful change agent directing talented women towards leadership roles in business. Through a combination of research, scholarships and network development, Forté Foundation reaches a broad spectrum of women from college, business school and beyond to ignite and sustain their participation in the global economy as corporate and entrepreneurial achievers.

Management Leadership for Tomorrow MLT's mission is to increase the presence of qualified students of color in leading entry-level careers and major graduate business schools as preparation for leadership positions in corporations, non-profit organizations and entrepreneurial ventures. As one of the first academic partners, the Johnson School participates annually in MLT's MBA Preparation program, which helps young professionals apply successfully to leading graduate business schools.

Robert Toigo Foundation provides scholarships, develops and promotes the brightest minority students to be leaders in the financial industry. The Johnson School is proud of the many Toigo Fellows in our student and alumni ranks.

Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) is an international, not-for-profit association of leading graduate business schools creating access to graduate and professional management education.

The PhD Project is an initiative designed to increase the diversity of business school faculty by supporting Native Americans, Hispanic Americans and African Americans in business doctoral programs.

Other External Organizations

American Business Women's Association brings together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition.

Diversity Pipeline Alliance Comprised of 10 nonprofit member organizations, and is devoted to helping underrepresented minorities, specifically African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans, pursue careers in business. http://www.diversitypipeline.org.

Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE) develops initiatives for the educational advancement of Hispanic college students and provides opportunities in professional and managerial positions.

National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) provides a unified voice to the more than 10 million women-owed business in America.

National Black MBA Association is a business organization that leads in the creation of economic and intellectual wealth for the African-American community. Extensive yearly conference @ very large recruiting schedule.

National Society of Hispanic MBAs is a professional business network for fostering Hispanic leadership through graduate management education. Nation's largest recruiting and professional development vehicle for Hispanic MBA's.

Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) provides students of color with access to careers in the financial industry by placing them in internships at major corporations.

College Scholarships and Fellowships for Minorities and Women The Johnson School Financial Aid Office's website, Loan & Aid Options page, contains comprehensive information about financial aid, scholarships and fellowships. All scholarships are available to minorities and women, and many Outside Scholarships listed are targeted for minorities and women.

Creative Investment Research provides information on banks, thrifts, and brokerage firms owned by women and minorities. Publishes the Minority Bank Monitor. Provides general investment research services.

Minority Finance.com information for minorities and women on investments or seeking capital. Sponsored by Creative Investment Research, Inc., founded in 1989.

Minority Business Entrepreneur magazine, a bimonthly publication for and about minority and women business owners.

U.S. Small Business Administration provides information about business ownership and resources for women, minorities, and Native Americans.

DiversityInc magazine an electronic newsletter focused on diversity news.
