Johnson School #7 in Global Ranking of Social and Environmental Programs
At a ceremony in New York City, the SC Johnson Graduate School of Management was ranked as a top 10 business program in the Aspen Institute's 2007-08 Beyond Grey Pinstripes survey, a biennial ranking on the integration of social, environmental and ethical issues into MBA programs.
"Cornell's Johnson School stands out as a leader in integrating social and environmental thinking into its student experience," said Rich Leimsider, Director of the Center for Business Education at the Aspen Institute. "The Johnson School offers an extraordinary number of courses that address how mainstream business can improve the world."
The Beyond Grey Pinstripes survey recognized that the Johnson School offers more than 60 courses in 15 different academic areas along with over 50 activities that integrate social, environmental or ethical perspectives. These include the Center's Base of the Pyramid Learning Lab, Business, Engineering and Sustainability Workshop, and Sustainable Enterprise MBA Career Fair.
"Earlier in the Fall, we were recognized in the Net Impact report, Business as Unusual for having such exceptional students. To have our business-led approach to addressing social and environmental issues through innovation and entrepreneurship recognized once again as a leading program by the Aspen Institute is affirmation that we are building a world class program," said Mark Milstein, Director of the Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise at the Johnson School.
