Two Johnson alumnae, Adele C. Oliva, MBA '93, and Mary Meeker, MBA '86, are among the five Top Women Venture Capitalists recognized in Forbes Magazine, May 8, 2013.
Oliva has been a partner at Quaker Partners since 2007, and is noted for the successes of her health care and pharma investments. She was previously a partner at Apax Partners, where she co-led the US Healthcare Group, focusing on specialty pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
Meeker, a partner at Kleiner, Perkins Caufield & Byers, focuses on Internet-related investments. The author of numerous industry-defining books, she has an impressive track record of understanding emerging technology trends and companies and was an early and consistent believer in opportunities related to the development of the Internet. She was one of the early Wall Street analysts to cover Apple, Microsoft, Dell, Adobe, Intuit, Electronic Arts, AOL, Netscape, Yahoo!, Amazon.com, VeriSign, eBay, Google and Alibaba.
