B.S. Construction Engineering, Minor in Mechanical Engineering, 2008-Purdue University
Prior to attending Johnson, Mark worked for four years in the renewable energy industry.  There he gained experience with wind energy and biogas projects.  In his role as Biofactory Project Engineer, he developed several biogas projects for Cargill.  These projects utilized organic waste from various sources and converted it to electricity that was then sold to various local utilities.  His experience in this space helped him to become familiar with U.S. carbon markets and some of the regulatory and financial hurdles that renewable energy projects face.  With the SGE immersion, Mark hopes to gain insight on how to most efficiently deploy renewable energy resources internationally, given the current regulatory and economic climate.
