Robert Collier has valuable experience in the both the private and non-profit sectors. Upon graduating from Middlebury College with a BA in History, Robert spent time in Washington, D.C. as a paralegal with Venable LLP's intellectual property litigation practice. While working with clients in the entertainment, arts, and software industries, he helped the firm transition to electronic document discovery, reducing costs and saving thousands of pages of paper. An interest in environmental stewardship led Robert to volunteer for AmeriCorps with a grassroots non-profit organization in South Lake Tahoe, CA. For the subsequent year, he traveled to rural towns in the Sierra Nevada mountains leading public presentations about the environmental, social, and economic impacts climate change. Most recently, Robert was a Research Analyst for Environmental Defense Fund in Boulder, CO. At EDF he worked extensively on national air quality policy and further developed his knowledge of the electric power sector. Through the SGE Immersion, Robert looks forward to applying business solutions to expand investment in clean energy technology.
