Fernando is currently a candidate of the full time MBA program at Johnson, Class of 2015.

 

At Johnson, Fernando is enrolled in the Strategic Marketing Immersion and pursues the Emerging Markets Institute Fellowship Program. Fernando was a finalist in the Citibank Finance/Strategy Integrative Case 2013 and placed third in the 2013 ROMBA Case Competition. Fernando is also the President of Johnson's Out4Business Club, the official LBGT club at the school.

 

Prior to Johnson, Fernando worked at Telefónica Brasil for two and half years. At Telefónica, he conducted market surveys to understand consumers' use and habits related to telecommunications. His major accomplishments at Telefonica were the implementation of the 4G/LTE technology in the two largest markets of Brazil Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, compromised of 5 million potential customers and the optimization of a $30M investment in the landline network through a prioritization model applying statistical algorithms, benefiting 12 million customers and saving $72M over three years.

 

Previously, Fernando worked for two years at Integration Consulting, a top-tier consulting firm in Latin America. At Integration, Fernando focused on commercial strategy, market scan and distribution chain assessments with emphasis on consumer goods, financial and real estate markets. Fernando developed more than 10 different projects for multinational companies interested in investing or expanding their operations in Brazil and Latin America.

 

Fernando graduated from Escola de Administração de Empresas de São Paulo - Fundação Geulio Vargas FGV EAESP with a business administration degree and concentration in international business. In FGV, Fernando volunteered at Empresa Junior as a consultant and Director of Human Resources was the exchange coordinator for AIESEC served as a teaching assistant for two classes interned at Whirlpool Corporation in the Human Resources department, and sharpened his international profile by working for six months in Turkey as an administrative intern in the logistics department of Coskunöz Holding.


Personal Interest


Fernando is a life-long pianist. He is passionate about sports running, swimming and especially soccer. He develops statistical models to forecast results of soccer matches between teams in the Brazilian A Series League.
