Jared Samuel Woodrey spent the first 8 years of his life on a small corn and soybeans farm in central IL. He then moved into the "big city" of Bloomington, IL population 100,000  before matriculating at the University of Chicago where he earned a degree in Geophysical Science. After graduation he accepted his commission as an Officer of Marines. After a year of training in Quantico, VA he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan as a Communications Officer. Leading teams as small as 4 and as large as 250 he spent his time moving from one training exercise to another throughout South East Asia. He led Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen on training exercise in Japan, Philippines, and Thailand. After the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami he worked in support of the humanitarian and aid mission Tomodachi. When he wasn't working in a foreign country he spent he time traveling to another country with his wife.
I will be pursuing a career in Strategy Consulting immediately after Johnson, but long-term will pursue a career in renewable energy and clean-tech industries especially where there is no infrastructure.
