The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) has announced the Excellence and Merit winners of the 2017 Gold Quill Awards program (#IABCGQ). The program recognizes business communication excellence globally, and is acknowledged as one of the most prestigious awards programs in the industry.
Theomary Karamanis, senior lecturer of management communications at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, was named recipient of a Gold Quill Award of Excellence in the category “Communication Training and Education” for a risk and crisis communication workshop designed and delivered for the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA).
According to feedback from IABC Gold Quill evaluators, “the entrant is a strong and strategic communication trainer/educator. High academic and professional approach and very articulate with great skill and attention to detail… The success rate of the workshop was exceptional.”
“The Gold Quill Awards program celebrates business communication’s best practices and the value professional, strategic communication programs bring to an organization’s bottom line, its brand and its reputation,” said Lynn Barter, ABC, MC, chair of the IABC awards committee. “Each entry is evaluated on its own merits against IABC’s Global Standard of excellence in communication. Winning a Gold Quill recognizes exceptional work, innovation and creativity."
The Gold Quill Awards will be presented at the Excellence Gala, to be held on June 13 as part of the IABC’s World Conference in Washington, D.C.
