Undergraduate Women in Investing Conference

Founded in 2016, the Undergraduate Women in Investing Conference is modeled after our long-running MBA-WIN conference and is designed to educate undergraduate women about the rewarding career opportunities available to them in investment management, a field in which women are vastly underrepresented.

October 4-5, 2018, Langham Hotel, Boston, MA

WIN is a forum for full-time undergraduate women from top universities around the country (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) and investment professionals from sponsoring firms to gather and:

  • Network
  • Hear perspectives on investment careers and related topics from industry representatives
  • Learn from distinguished women and men in the industry
  • Showcase their stock-picking skills in front of judges from sponsoring firm and obtain feedback on their pitches

More than 60 women undergraduate students from top universities and representatives from 10 top-tier investment management/financial service firms are expected to attend.  Through the generosity of our sponsors, Cornell will cover the hotel room costs of participating women who are on the stock pitching team from each school (shared rooms, up to two rooms per school).

Thank you for organizing and leading the Cornell WIN Conference this year (and last). It was such a pleasure to meet you in person, and I am thrilled to have been able to participate. I thoroughly enjoyed preparing and presenting in the stock pitch competition, and appreciate the opportunity to meet and connect with so many talented women and men in investment management. Getting feedback on the pitch from Mercedes, Lisa, and Boris was invaluable. I would love to stay in touch as I weigh career opportunities in investment banking and investment management post-graduation, this summer I will be at Deutsche Bank doing investment banking in NY as I mentioned briefly, but I was reminded by this conference how passionate I am about research and investing.

Sarah Nicholson, Cornell Class of 2019 (Arts and Sciences)
I hope you're having a nice start to your weekend! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to participate in the conference these past two days and be a part of my first stock pitch team. My experience leading up to and during the conference was honestly priceless - I learned so much that I would not have learned with my classes and got to hear so many incredible people speak, including yourself. I have never considered investing or equity research as a path for me, but after attending the conference I am very eager to learn more. I would love to stay in touch about other learning opportunities and things I can do on my own to continue to grow in this field. Thank you again for everything and have a wonderful fall break!

I just wanted to congratulate you for such a well-run event! It seemed like everyone had an amazing time, the hotel and accommodations were great, and it was an amazing opportunity that I'm so glad I participated in. Thank you again for planning it, it was wonderful!

I just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to attend this year's Undergraduate WIN Conference. I had a wonderful time meeting all of the company representatives and hearing their insights. I definitely received a lot of clarity regarding achieving my future goals and learned a lot about the various ways I can pursue my passion. I also really enjoyed meeting the students from other schools and making new friends from across Cornell. I am really excited for the participants of next year's conference to have this great opportunity and experience.
