The Smith Family Business Initiative at Cornell is dedicated to supporting and strengthening the network of owners, leaders and alumni that work in, with or for a family business.

Founded in 2014 from a generous gift from John and Dyan Smith, the Smith Family Business Initiative provides education, networking and new knowledge for family business owners, successors and students from across the globe.


2017 Families in Business Conference

WEDNESDAY - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25 -27, 2017

STATLER HOTEL | CORNELL CAMPUS

The 3rd Annual Families in Business Conference brings together alumni, students and business owners for two days of in-depth discussion and exploration focusing on the Future of Family Business.

"Taking Stock," a film screening with Director Ben Stillerman will kick off the conference on Wednesday, October 25. "A Taste of Family Business" returns and will feature diverse selections from family-owned wineries, breweries, distilleries and value-added agriculture. The full conference takes place on Friday, October 27, followed by the Sam Seltzer ('48) Mentors Forum on Friday afternoon.
