The 2020 Case

Fourth Cornell Emerging Markets Institute Annual Case Competition is a key event in the conference, and was held on November 7th. The year 2020 has been unexpected for all of us. Hit by a global pandemic,  economies and lives around the world have been impacted, something which none had anticipated. Keeping this current state in mind, this year’s case competition addressed the challenges that the emerging markets companies, which increasingly rely on a globally interconnected supply chain, are facing due to Covid-19, specifically in the pharmaceuticals industry.

Kishan Kashyap

"The problem statement was extremely well-crafted and relevant in the current context. Probably, the most memorable part of the competition was fielding difficult questions from a panel of accomplished judges from all over the world. Equally enriching was the perspectives we gained from the presentations of other finalists."
