Johnson’s new Emerging Markets Institute (EMI) will celebrate its founding through a unique discussion with its first Fellow, Professor Eswar Prasad of Cornell University, Thursday, March 3 in room B09 of Sage Hall from 4:15 to 5:15 pm.  Andrew Karolyi , co-academic director of EMI and professor of Finance at Johnson will talk with Prasad about “Emerging Markets in the New World Economic order.”   The talk is open to the Cornell community, but seating is limited and will be handled on a first-come, first-seated basis.

A prolific researcher and frequent expert source for major media outlets, Prasad is the Tolani Senior Professor of International Trade Policy at Cornell University. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, where he holds the New Century Chair in International Economics, and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Prasad was previously chief of the Financial Studies Division in the International Monetary Fund’s Research Department and, before that, was the head of the IMF’s China Division.
