Biography

Lawrence Robinson is professor emeritus of operations, technology, and information management at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, part of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. His research focuses on problems of operating in an uncertain environment; in particular, on developing practical heuristic policies that perform well and can be easily calculated. His research interests comprise inventory management, booking limits for discount-fare airline passengers, and scheduling doctor's appointments.

Robinson has published in a variety of journals, including Operations Research, Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Operations Research Letters, and Production and Operations Management. He has been a Mobil Scholar and has twice received the Executive MBA Globe Award for teaching excellence.
