Outside Scholarship Resources

Scholarships from outside the school are available from many sources. Private scholarships may be based on various selection criteria: academic achievement, religious affiliation, ethnicity, memberships, civic activities, hobbies, or special talents. There is some effort involved in securing outside funds. We encourage all students to seek outside scholarships and recommend that you begin your search as early as possible. Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship – Government Finance Officers Association
The Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship, funded by the Goldberg Miller Foundation, is awarded to a graduate student who is enrolled in a full-time master’s study preparing for a career in state and local government finance. Citizen or permanent resident of US or Canada. Also listed as the Goldberg-Miller Finance Scholarship.

Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund (FEEA)
FEEA sponsors the only merit-based scholarship competition program open exclusively to federal employees, their spouses, and their children–rewarding hard workers through their merit-based program.

Fleet Reserve Education Foundation
The Fleet Reserve Association Education Foundation offers a variety of scholarship opportunities for Navy, Marine and Coast Guard service members and their family. FRA membership is not required for some scholarships.

MBA Scholarship Program – National Black MBA Association, Inc.
Awarded to outstanding minority students pursuing graduate management/business degrees, while demonstrating strong leadership abilities, and commitment to their communities, ranging from $2,500 to $15,000.

The Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship of $10,000 is awarded to a graduate student of public administration, (governmental) accounting, finance, political science, economics, or business administration (with a specific focus on government or nonprofit management). The purpose is to recognize outstanding performance by minority students preparing for careers in state and local government finance.

National Federation of the Blind Scholarship – National Federation of the Blind
The federation grants thirty scholarships annually to legally blind persons in higher education ranging in value from $3,000 to $12,000.

National Italian American Scholarships – National Italian American Foundation
The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) annually awards scholarships to outstanding students in the summer for use during the following academic year.

National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS)
NSCS offers diverse scholarships for members, including specific GEICO-sponsored awards for First Generation Students and Women in Business, to name a few.

National Society of Hispanic MBA (NSHMBA) Scholarship Program – National Society of Hispanic MBA
The National Society of Hispanic MBAs Scholarship program provides funding to assist Hispanics pursuing Master’s Degrees in management/business. Awards range from $2,500–$10,000. Eligible applicants must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of Hispanic background and be enrolled or planning to enroll in a MBA program by fall of the application year. Applicants must also be NSHMBA members and possess a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Awards are renewable for up to one year or until a Master’s Degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Awards range from $2,500 to $5,000. US citizen or legal permanent resident.

Native Forward Scholars Fund
The Native Forward Scholars Fund provides financial support for American Indians and Alaska Natives seeking higher education, and supports them in attaining undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees.

Navy Seal Foundation
The Navy SEAL Foundation is pleased to offer scholarship opportunities to NSW active duty service members, their spouses and dependent children, children of qualifying former NSW service members, as well as our SEAL and SWCC post-9/11 veterans.

New York Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund
Since its incorporation in 1989 through 2025, the NY Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund Inc (GLEF), has awarded over $211,500 in fellowships to 179 NYS women.

New York State Veterans Program
New York State offers the Veterans Tuition Award to support the educational pursuits of veterans and their beneficiaries.

Orbis Investment Management MBA Fellowship – Orbis Investment Management
This is an award that students passionate about investment management can use towards their tuition and/or course-related expenses. There are no demographic criteria or previous work experience requirements.

Pat Tillman Foundation
The Pat Tillman Foundation is a national leader in providing resources and educational scholarship support to veterans, active service members and their spouses. The Tillman Military Scholars program aids all veterans, specifically the ever-growing population of veterans of Post-9/11 conflicts.

Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Each year The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans honors and supports the graduate educations of 30 New Americans, immigrants or the children of immigrants. Each fellow receives tuition and living expenses that can total as much as $90,000 over two academic years. Fellows can study in any degree-granting program in any field at any university in the U.S.

Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship
Provide 40 Fellowships of $8,500 each, six at $15,000 each, and two at $35,000 each to members entering the first year of graduate or professional study.

Point Foundation – The National LGBT Scholarship Fund
The Point Foundation provides financial support through multi-year scholarships, leadership training, mentoring and hope to LGBT students who are marginalized because of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

Reaching Out LGBT MBA Fellowship – Reaching Out MBA
The Reaching Out LGBT MBA Fellowship was created as a joint effort between top business school programs and Reaching Out to demonstrate that business schools are outstanding opportunities for out LGBT young professionals and their active allies to build their careers.

Saint Andrew’s Society
The Saint Andrew’s Society of Washington, DC grants awards from its Washington Scots Charity & Education Fund Scholarships Program. Awards are made to scholars enrolled in US or Scottish institutions for the third or fourth year of College or University or full-time graduate study.

Samvid Scholars
A new scholarship for future leaders and changemakers, Samvid Scholars was established in 2021 by Samvid Ventures to invest in the graduate education of future leaders who are committed to effecting positive change in society.

Sons of Italy Foundation
The Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America awards 10 to 18 merit-based scholarships each year (National Leadership Grants), ranging from $5,000 to $20,000.

Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund of the American Business Women’s Association
National scholarships are awarded each year in the amounts of $5,000 to $10,000. All national scholarships have their requirements designated by the SBMEF Board of Trustees. The national scholarships are open to women meeting the requirements of each scholarship.

Swiss Benevolent Society of New York
Provides scholarships and grants for education above the high school level.

Tampa Green Beret Association (TGBA)
TGBA supports the Richard J. Meadows Memorial Scholarship program which honors the memory of Dick Meadows by recognizing the qualities of dedication, determination, scholarship and achievement that he so courageously demonstrated throughout his lifetime. This program is designed to provide one-time scholarship grants annually for tuition and books for the pursuit of academic advancement.

The American Warrior Association Scholarship
The American Warrior Association Scholarship provides up to $10,000 for veterans transitioning to civilian life.

The Kosciuszko Foundation Scholarships
Scholarships support American students of Polish descent for undergraduate and graduate level studies at colleges and universities in the United States.

Thomas R. Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellowship – The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation
The program seeks to recruit talented students in academic programs relevant to international affairs, political and economic analysis, administration, management, and science policy. The goal is to attract outstanding students from all ethnic, racial and social backgrounds, who have an interest in pursuing a Foreign Service career in the U.S. Department of State.

Veterans United Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship creates opportunities for family members of service members and Veterans to achieve their educational dreams.

Wells Fargo Veterans Scholarship Program
Provides scholarships up to $10,000 per year to fill gaps for veterans and spouses of disabled veterans after military benefits and other grants and scholarships.

The Foundation’s Educational Grants Scheme is an annual program of grants.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch MBA Diversity Fellowship Program
The partnership provides merit-based fellowships to Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, military veterans, LGBT, students with disabilities and women entering business school each year. Successful candidates will receive $40,000 of total tuition and fees towards the 1st year of your MBA Program, a paid summer internship within Global Banking and Markets (GBAM) businesses including Investment Banking, Public Finance or Global Research, and the opportunity to receive a further funding for tuition and fees for the 2nd year of your MBA program.

Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES)
In addition to providing research grants to U.S. faculty & scholars, Fulbright runs scholarship programs for international students in over 140 countries, for any field of graduate study. Program administration is through CIES, but students should apply through the Fulbright Commission in their country or through a local U.S. Embassy. Funding, through the U.S. Department of State covers partial tuition, stipend allowance, and insurance. Students must leave the U.S. for a minimum of two years after graduation, preferably returning to their home country.

CREW Network Foundation
The CREW Network Foundation scholarship program supports female students as they pursue university-level education that will lead to careers in commercial real estate.

East-West Center
The East-West Center offers a wide variety of both short- and long-term programs for individuals. Academic scholarships and fellowships as well as educational exchange and professional development programs are available.

International Research and Exchanges Board
