Mr. Philip Shearer has been Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Executive Board of Clarins SA since 2008. Formerly, Mr. Shearer served as Group President of Estee Lauder Companies Inc. from January 1, 2003 to November 2007. He was responsible for Clinique and Origins on a worldwide basis and leads its online activities, including the Gloss.com joint venture with Chanel and Clarins and in January 2005, he added responsibility of prestige hair care business, including Aveda and Bumble and Bumble. He served as Group President of International of Estee Lauder Companies Inc. since September 2001. He served as President of Luxury Products Division of L’Oréal, in Japan since 1992. From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Shearer served as President of Luxury Products Division of L’Oréal USA, Inc., which included Lancome, Helena Rubinstein, Ralph Lauren fragrances, Giorgio Armani and Kiehl’s. His accomplishments included the purchase of Kiehl’s and playing an instrumental role in The L’Oréal Group’s acquisition of the rights to market the Shu Uemura Cosmetics brand outside of Japan. He served as General Manager of Lancôme in the United States from 1993 to 1997. He served as President of Lancôme since 1997. He served in various positions at L’Oreal from 1987, including management positions in the United Kingdom and in Japan. Mr. Shearer joined L’Oréal in 1987 and served as its Managing Director of Lancôme division in the United Kingdom from 1988 to 1992. He served as General Manager of Mexico of Elizabeth Arden division of Eli Lilly from 1983 to 1986, Director of Financial Planning and Director of Marketing, based in Paris from 1980 to 1983 and was leading its strategic planning department in New York City from 1986 to 1987. Mr. Shearer served as Chairman of the Board of The Fragrance Foundation from 1998 to 2001. He served as Director of Bacardi & Company Limited since September 13, 2006 until July 2012. He earned an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
