Make the most of the summer prior to the start of your professional graduate program by completing the recommended academic prep work for your program below.

Please note these courses do not satisfy Conditional Admission offers. If your offer of admission is conditional, required prerequisite coursework is outlined in your offer letter.

MPS - Management Students

Your core courses will be fast paced—make sure you’re ready to keep up by taking advantage of online resources to get you up to speed on key foundational business topics.

We provide you with a free MBA Math account, which is designed to give both MBA and specialized business master’s students a quantitative foundation in anticipation of their degree programs. Be sure to take advantage of this resource, as it will familiarize you with the business terms and concepts that will come up throughout your MPS – Management program. This is especially important for MPS-Management students without a strong background in these topics.

At a minimum, all incoming MPS-Management students should at least complete the MBA Math modules on accounting and finance. We encourage you to also review the modules on Excel and other topics as your time allows. You will receive a login and passcode for your MBA Math account by email in early summer.

Strong Excel skills are also required for your program. In addition to the MBA Math modules on Excel, we encourage you to take advantage of LinkedIn Learning to go deeper into Excel before you arrive. Suggested LinkedIn Learning courses on Excel include:

How do I access my LinkedIn Learning account?

You will need your Cornell NetID to access your free Cornell LinkedIn Learning account. Your NetID is a unique identifier that provides access to your Cornell email and other public Cornell resources and information. After you have confirmed your enrollment and your deposit is processed you will receive instructions to activate your Cornell NetID.

Once you have activated your NetID, log in via Cornell’s portal to LinkedIn Learning to begin taking classes.

MPS – Management Accounting Specialization Students

As an incoming MPS-Management Accounting Specialization student, you should already have a strong foundational business background. If you need to brush up on your accounting and finance skills, however, you can take advantage of MBA Math, an online resource for business master’s and MBA students.
