We encourage candidates to research each of our programs before applying. We understand, however, that there may be instances when it is necessary to apply before making a final decision. Applicants who choose to apply to more than one of our programs should notify the admissions office. Only one application is required; it will be reviewed separately by each of our Admissions Committees. Applicants may need to complete more than one admissions interview.
Yes, we will add your transcripts and recommendation letters to your application as they arrive. You will be contacted for an admissions interview once all outstanding documents are submitted.
Yes, you can defer your admission for one year. A deposit is required to hold your position.

Once your application is complete and we’ve conducted your admissions interview, you can typically expect to receive a decision within two weeks.
When you graduate from the Cornell Executive MBA Metro NY you will receive an MBA from Cornell University. Upon completion of the Cornell Executive MBA Americas you will receive an MBA from Cornell University and an MBA from Queen’s University.
An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution is required to be admitted into our Executive MBA programs.
Yes, you should be employed full-time from the time you apply through completion of the program.
The GMAT is not a required component of the application. In some cases the admissions committee will ask a candidate to take the GMAT to provide additional evidence of academic readiness.
Yes, if you have taken the GMAT you can submit your score for review. It will be included within your application for admission.
On average, our enrolled students have 12 years of full-time, progressive work experience. We typically insist an applicant has a minimum of five to seven years.
Application for Admission
Once our admissions team has received all documentation to accompany your application, your admissions counselor will be in touch with you to schedule an admissions interview.
Two letters of recommendation must be submitted on your behalf. A third letter of recommendation is optional.
One of your letters should be submitted by your immediate supervisor. Your second letter of recommendation should be written by someone who can best attest to your professional skill set. This might include a colleague, client, subordinate, or former supervisor. We suggest that you choose references who know you well and can provide detailed insights.
Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate academic institutions you’ve attended
The best letters of recommendation will assess your intellectual strength and creativity, ability to work well in teams, potential for assuming greater management responsibility, and outstanding characteristics.
Organizational charts give our admissions committee members an understanding of your organization’s structure and where your position fits within that structure. Please include your position as well as your direct reporting structure.

Transcripts must be translated from an accredited body. We may also request an evaluation. Please work closely with your admissions advisor to determine appropriate steps.
Yes. You must provide transcripts from all graduate and undergraduate institutions you’ve attended. We must have official documentation on record for all credits earned, including those transferred from institutions from which you did not graduate.
Our interview process allows us to get to know you one-on-one. The admissions committee member conducting your interview will have reviewed your application in its entirety before speaking with you. The conversation will last about an hour.
An interview, either on the phone or in-person, is required for admission. Not all candidates are granted an admissions interview.
We encourage you to clearly and succinctly address each essay within the assigned word limitations. You’ll also be paired with an admissions counselor to guide you throughout the admissions process. Your admissions counselor would be happy to review your admissions essays and offer feedback prior to submission.
Tuition, Financial Aid, and Organizational Sponsorship

We operate in accordance with the Office of the Bursar’s payment schedule. Tuition for the Cornell Executive MBA Metro NY is billed in six installments payable around the start of each term. Tuition for the Cornell Executive MBA Americas is billed in five installments payable around the start of each term. For more information, please visit the Office of the Bursar’s website.
A deposit of $5,000 is required to secure your seat in the program. Your deposit will be applied to your first tuition installment.
