What makes the Cornell-Tsinghua MBA/FMBA program different?

Its bilingual approach and class composition—you’ll complete your courses among high-quality candidates who are prepared to lead in the international finance industry.

After two years of part-time study, graduates of the Cornell-Tsinghua MBA/FMBA program will receive an MBA from both Cornell University and Tsinghua University. This program, based in Beijing, accommodates the demanding lifestyles of fast-rising corporate stars and entrepreneurs, allowing you to balance life, work, and study.

Management and finance curriculum

The Cornell-Tsinghua MBA/FMBA curriculum, which combines theory and practice in 60 credits, is presented in four modules. The core/basic module provides deep insights related to finance, operations, economics, and management. Later in the program you’ll complete modules on entrepreneurship and innovation along with elective courses that are based strongly in finance. All students participate in and complete a negotiation practicum, Wall Street trek, fintech hackathon, and thesis.

Unique experiential format

The Cornell-Tsinghua program is divided into classroom sessions and study trips. Seventy-five percent of coursework will be completed in China—the majority of classroom sessions take place every other weekend. The remaining 25 percent of the program consists of study trips to the United States, specifically to Cornell’s campus in Ithaca, NY and New York City. While in Ithaca, you’ll have the opportunity to work with other Johnson MBA students on joint projects and case competitions and hear from guest speakers who are leaders in the finance arena.
