The Cornell-Tsinghua Finance MBA curriculum, which combines theory and practice in 60 credits, is presented in four modules. The core/basic module provides deep insights related to finance, operations, economics, and management. Later in the program, you’ll complete modules on entrepreneurship and innovation along with elective courses that are based strongly in finance. All students participate in and complete a negotiation practicum, Wall Street trek, fintech hackathon, and thesis.
The Cornell-Tsinghua program is divided into classroom sessions and study trips. Seventy-five percent of coursework will be completed in China—the majority of classroom sessions take place every other weekend. The remaining 25 percent of the program consists of study trips to the United States, specifically to Cornell’s campuses in Ithaca, NY, and New York City. While in Ithaca, you’ll have the opportunity to work with other Johnson MBA students on joint projects and case competitions and hear from guest speakers who are leaders in the finance arena.
The program brings together faculty from Cornell and Tsinghua universities. You’ll learn the subject matter in both English and Mandarin from some of academia’s most respected professors. We also invite industry leaders and program alumni to come speak on current finance and economic topics. You’ll learn from people who are role models in leadership, integrity, and social responsibility.
We are seeking candidates with two to five years of work experience in finance or other relevant industries.
