Please carefully review these dates for your summer term and put them in your calendar now.
Academic Dates: A Note About Weekends
Due to the highly-accelerated nature of the summer core curriculum, please understand that weekends are not free. Weekends are frequently needed for group work, academic review sessions, and other activities. Additionally, some summer core midterm and final exams are held on weekends. We urge you to avoid outside commitments in order to stay fully engaged.
The intensive summer core necessitates Data Analytics & Modeling some online coursework that you must complete before your arrival in Ithaca. This will include some assignments and quizzes that you need to do before you finish the material in person. Watch for an email from us on or around March 18, 2020 on how to get started.
Incoming international students must participate in International Student Orientation (ISO) before the official start of the MBA program. All ISO sessions will be delivered virtually.
The summer core curriculum is extremely accelerated. Class sessions and exam dates are mandatory; plan to be fully engaged and limit your outside commitments. Typically, you will take two classes at a time, with sessions all day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesdays are devoted to group work, career prep, and other activities. You’ll use weekends to work with your core team, attend review sessions, and sometimes take exams.
All members of the Johnson Cornell Tech MBA Class of 2021 must participate in the start of our orientation and summer term on Monday, May 11. Attendance at all Monday orientation sessions is required.
The first day will begin at 9:00 a.m. Eastern time and will run through 10:45 a.m. and will focus on a Summer Program Overview and getting to know your peers in the Johnson Cornell Tech and One-Year Ithaca MBA programs.
Later sessions in the day will be offered twice so you can participate in whichever time works best for you. These sessions include:
Technology at Johnson
Student Panel with Class of 2020 Johnson Cornell Tech MBAs
On Tuesday you’ll start your day at 9:00 a.m. Eastern time with everyone joining a Career Overview that runs until 10:30 a.m.
Later sessions in the day will be offered more than once so you can participate in the time that works best for you. These sessions include:
Excellence & Integrity at Johnson, offered twice
Student Breakouts, offered multiple times so you can get to know others in the Johnson Cornell Tech & One-Year Ithaca MBA programs

On Wednesday, May 13, you’ll begin your Core Team Practicum and Leading Teams classes.
The fast-pace of our summer curriculum means that we are unable to observe the Memorial Day holiday. You will be expected to be in class on May 25.
Your Data Analytics core is a hybrid course with required online pre-work that you must complete before you arrive in Ithaca on May 11.
Plan to be in Ithaca on Saturday, May 30 as you have an Accounting Midterm Exam from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
No class. Please note classes do not conclude on Thursday, July 2 until 3:45 p.m.
After your final exam, we’ll celebrate the end of your summer term and wish you all the best for your relocation to New York City at our annual lakeside end-of-summer picnic celebration.
No class. You’ll use this time to connect with friends & family and to move to NYC for the academic year at Roosevelt Island.
