Family Business Alliance

The Family Business Alliance was formed in 2003 to bring together directors of university-based family business programs. While this remains an informal association of professionals, we welcome the participation of additional directors of family business programs in the academic space. There are approximately 50 centers dispersed throughout the United States and Canada who are affiliated with the Family Business Alliance.

2021 Annual Directors Meeting

The 2021 Family Business Alliance Annual Meeting will be hosted virtually on June 7 & 8. Nearly 40 center directors and program coordinators will gather together to discuss programs and share best practices. To join this conference at no cost, send an inquiry to David Simpson at

Listen to Dave Simpson’s description of events in this video, as he details what we will be doing, and how the conference will provide access for some of our support staff to join certain portions. The annual meeting gathers center directors and assistants to delve into current issues pertaining to running a successful family business program.
