Brett Meyer, CFAChief Operating Officer, Artisan Partners
Brett J. Meyer, CFA, is the chief operating officer of the Artisan Partners Global Equity Team. In this role, he is responsible for a number of non-investment responsibilities to ensure the focus of the team’s portfolio managers and analysts is on managing the team’s investment strategies. His responsibilities include day-to-day coordination of the research processes, hiring investment talent, and the information flow among the members of the investment team and trading. In addition, he acts as the team’s liaison with Artisan Partners’ business management team on legal, compliance, accounting, finance, facilities and IT matters. Mr. Meyer joined Artisan Partners in February 2013 as a director in the Investment Operations group which supports the firm’s existing investment teams as well as identifies new investment talent. Prior to joining Artisan, Mr. Meyer served as an equity analyst on the investment team at Quantum Capital Management. Previously, Mr. Meyer spent 12 years at Callan Associates in a variety of capacities, including director of research for the Independent Adviser Group. Mr. Meyer holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and sports management from Principia College.
Joe HintzInvestment Analyst, American Century Investments
Joe Hintz is an investment analyst for American Century Investments, a premier investment manager headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. He is based in the company’s Kansas City, Missouri Office.
Joe provides fundamental research and analysis for the U.S. Small Cap Value and U.S. Small Cap Value Income strategies. He has been a member of the team since joining American Century Investments in 2015. Previously, Joe was a concert violinist and performed with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida and the Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra in Michigan, as well as several orchestra ensembles in San Diego, California.
Joe holds a bachelor’s degree in music from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, a master’s degree in music from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in business administration from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
Miles Lewis, CFACFA Vice President and Portfolio Manager, American Century Investments
Miles Lewis is a vice president and portfolio manager for American Century Investments, a premier investment manager headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. He is based in the company’s New York Office.
Miles co-manages and provides fundamental research and analysis for the U.S. Small Cap Value and U.S. Small Cap Value Income Strategies. He has been a member of the team since joining American Century Investments in 2010. Previously, Miles was assistant vice president at MBIA Insurance Company in New York, where he worked on structured finance transactions and municipal debt restructuring. Prior to that, he was an analyst at Chanin Capital Partners in New York, where he advised investors in bankruptcy and distressed companies. He also worked as an associate in the investor relations department of Accenture. He has worked n the financial industry since 2003.
Miles holds a bachelor of business administration degree from The College of William and Mary and a master’s degree in business administration from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute.
Boris ShepovResearch Analyst, Fidelity Investments
Boris Shepov is a research analyst at Fidelity Management & Research Company (FMRCo), the investment advisor for Fidelity’s family of mutual funds. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing and other financial products and services to more than 20 million individuals, institutions and financial intermediaries. In this role, Boris is responsible for researching companies in the retail sector, and for presenting ideas to portfolio managers. In this capacity, he also manages Select Retailing Fund.
Prior to joining Fidelity in 2008, Boris worked as a summer associate at Barclays Capital in 2007, an associate at Withum Smith & Brown, PC in 2006, and as an analyst at Ingis & Company, PA from 2004 to 2006. He has been in the investments industry since 2008.
Boris earned his bachelor of science and master of science degrees in finance from Kiev University of Trade and Economics, and his master of business administration degree in finance from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Andrew SteinermanManaging Director, J.P. Morgan
Celebrating 20 years at J.P. Morgan, Andrew Steinerman is a Managing Director covering the U.S. Business and Information Services sectors. He has been top ranked by Institutional Investor every year since 1999 and designated #1 15 times in recent years. Andrew was inducted into Institutional Investor’s All-America Research Team Hall of Fame. He previously worked in Big 4 accounting and holds a CPA. Andrew received his MBA from Wharton and an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.
Thomas Watson, CFAVice President, T. Rowe Price Group, Inc.
Thomas Watson is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. He is a director of Equity Research, North America; co-chair of the Equity Research Advisory Committee; and a member of the Equity Steering Committee. In addition, Tom is co-portfolio manager of the US Structured Research Equity Strategy and is a member of the portfolio oversight team. He is also a member of the Investment Advisory Committees of the Global Technology, New American Growth, and Science & Technology Funds. Prior to joining T. Rowe Price in 2007, he was employed as a strategy analyst for Forrester Research. Tom earned a B.A. in economics and English literature from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Tom SpragueRetired Portfolio Manager and Investor
Thomas Sprague has been involved with the stock market for over 25 years. As an analyst at Fidelity, he was responsible for stock picks in a wide variety of industries, from technology to leisure to steel. As a portfolio manager there he managed up to $12 billion in several retail mutual funds and institutional retirement portfolios, emphasizing a growth style of investing. Although no longer at Fidelity, he remains an active private investor, and assists several not-for-profit organizations with their investment and financial decisions.
Sprague’s work experience includes sixteen years at Fidelity Investments, where he served, successively, as equity analyst, equity portfolio manager, and group leader; and eight years as an industrial engineer at Eastman Kodak. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Covenant Trust Company in Chicago, IL and sits on the Finance Committee at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. Tom also sits on the Board of Directors for an Riverside, CA based startup company TruTouch Technologies.
Sprague earned his BS in operations research and industrial engineering at Cornell University in 1979, and his MBA in finance at the Wharton School in 1989.
