2019 Judges

Camille Carlstrom

Managing Director of Research, Portfolio Manager, Fidelity Investments

Camille Carlstrom is managing director of research and a portfolio manager in the Equity Division at Fidelity Investments. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.

In this role, Ms. Carlstrom is responsible for the REIT group and research associates, as well as undergraduate and MBA campus recruiting. She is also lead portfolio manager of the FIAM International Growth strategy, responsible for asset allocation and risk control across the portfolio.

Prior to assuming her current responsibilities, she served as an associate portfolio manager and analyst supporting the FIAM Japan Growth strategy. She also provided research coverage for the Japanese financial sector.

Prior to joining Fidelity in 2012, Ms. Carlstrom was a senior vice president and analyst in the investment division at Putnam Investments. In this capacity, she was responsible for fundamental research coverage of more than 100 financial sector stocks, banks, insurance, credit cards, brokerage, and real estate across developed and emerging Asia. Previously, she co-managed a sub-portfolio specializing in Asian financials in addition to directing the investment associate program for equity research. She also served as a business analyst in the corporate development group and an investment associate in the investment division.

Before joining Putnam, Ms. Carlstrom was an assistant national bank examiner at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Ms. Carlstrom earned her bachelor of arts degree in finance and accounting from Villanova University and her master of business administration degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management.

Maurice J. Fitzmaurice

Portfolio Manager, Research Analyst, Fidelity Investments

Maurice Fitzmaurice is a portfolio manager and research analyst at Fidelity Management & Research Company, (FMR Co.) the investment advisor for Fidelity’s family of mutual funds. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.

In this role, Mr. Fitzmaurice manages the Fidelity Select Energy Service Portfolio. He also collaborates with Fidelity’s equity income portfolio managers to expand the firm’s value-oriented coverage, and works on the firm’s portfolio management strategic objectives.

Prior to assuming his current position in January 2017, Mr. Fitzmaurice served as managing director of research in Fidelity’s High Income division. In this capacity, he managed a team of research analysts and research associates based in Boston and London. Previously, Mr. Fitzmaurice was a research analyst in FMR Co.’s Equity division. During this time, he also managed Midcap Financials Pilot Fund, Fidelity Select Defense and Aerospace Portfolio, Fidelity Select Air Transportation Portfolio, and Fidelity Select Transportation Portfolio. Prior to that, Mr. Fitzmaurice was a research analyst in the High Income division, during which time he also managed the high yield sub-portfolios of Fidelity Balanced Fund, Fidelity Advisor Balanced Fund, and VIP Balanced Fund, as well as the high yield sub-portfolio of Fidelity Total Bond Fund.

Before joining Fidelity in 1998, Mr. Fitzmaurice was an investment banking analyst at Lehman Brothers. He has been in the financial industry since 1994.

Mr. Fitzmaurice earned his bachelor of arts degree in economics from Cornell University and his master of business administration degree from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Vik Chopra

Vice President in Equity Research, Credit Suisse

Vik Chopra is a Vice President in Equity Research at Credit Suisse in New York working on the U.S. Medical Supplies and Devices team. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Mr. Chopra worked in Equity Research at UBS and PiperJaffray in the U.S. as well as in Equity Research in Hong Kong and London. Mr. Chopra earned his B.B.A from York University in Canada.

Mike Ziffer, CFA

Vice President in Equity Research, Credit Suisse

Mike Ziffer is a Vice President in Equity Research at Credit Suisse where he has been for two years covering the macro outlook for oil and US natural gas prices as well as companies within the oil and gas exploration & production sector. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Mike had similar roles at UBS in New York for four years and Brean Capital in Boston for one year. Mike earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Economics from Florida State University and Master of Business Administration degree from Babson College. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Salil Phadnis

Vice President, Dodge & Cox

Mr. Phadnis received his B.E. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pune in 2005, his M.S. degree in Management, Science, and Engineering from Stanford University in 2007, and his M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2013. Prior to business school, he worked as a research associate at Dodge & Cox and as an Investment Banking Analyst at Lehman Brothers. Mr. Phadnis rejoined Dodge & Cox as a global industry analyst in 2013.

Tania Harsono, CFA

Analyst, Putnam Investments

Ms. Harsono is an Analyst in the Equity Research group, focusing on small-cap growth stocks. She is responsible for conducting fundamental analysis and valuation of small-cap companies across all sectors and making buy/sell recommendations. Previously at Putnam, Ms. Harsono served as an Associate and a Sector Specialist, covering the global consumer sector. She joined Putnam in 2015 and has been in the investment industry since 2011.  Previously, she worked for Sanford Bernstein as an Institutional Equity Sales Associate.  Tania received her B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Columbia University.

Elizabeth McGuire

Portfolio Manager and Analyst, Putnam Investments

Ms. McGuire is a Portfolio Manager of Putnam Capital Opportunities Fund and an Analyst in the Equity Research group, focusing on the agriculture, global chemicals, materials, and industrials sectors. She is responsible for conducting fundamental analysis and valuation of agricultural, global chemical, paper and packaging companies, and U.S. small and mid-sized industrial firms, and for making buy/sell
recommendations. Ms. McGuire originally joined Putnam in 2014 as an Intern while earning her M.B.A. She has been in the investment industry since she rejoined Putnam full-time in 2015. Previously, she worked for Clarion Healthcare, LLC, as a consultant.  Ms. McGuire holds a B.A. from Williams College and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School.

Ann M. Holcomb, CFA

Portfolio Manager. T. Rowe Price

Ann Holcomb is a portfolio manager and Head of the Associate Analyst Program in the U.S. Equity Division of T. Rowe Price. She is co-chair of the Investment Advisory Committee of the US Structured Research Strategy. She is also portfolio manager of the European Structured Research Strategy. Ms. Holcomb is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc.

Ms. Holcomb has 24 years of investment experience, 23 of which have been with T. Rowe Price. She joined the firm in 1996 and, prior to her current position, was a quantitative analyst and database programmer in the Quantitative Equity Group. She was also a member of the Investment Advisory Committee for the US Equity Index Strategies.

Ms. Holcomb earned a B.A. in mathematics from Goucher College and an M.S. in finance from Loyola University Maryland. She also has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Ms. Holcomb presently serves on the Boards of Trustees of Calvert School and the Walters Art Museum.

Thomas Spratt, CFA

Vice President, T. Rowe Price

Tom Spratt is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., and manager of the equity associate analyst teams. He joined the firm in 1997 as a portfolio assistant in the U.S. Equity Division. In 2000, Tom moved to the position of research specialist providing fundamental research support to a number of investment professionals. In 2004 he added some managerial responsibilities and then in 2007 took over as manager of the associate analyst team. Tom earned his B.A. in economics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
